DF 181 Report post Posted September 4, 2013 a wrestler holds his opponent to his back without actively working for the pin. Happens all the time with cradles. No working for the pin, just holding his opponent there well after the ref has counted nearfall. Sometimes with his arm under his opponents shoulder so there can't be a pin call anyway. It's the same as shooting in on a single, lifting it in the air, and just holding it there without actively trying for the takedown. But if you do that they'll call stalling fairly fast, but you can hold your opponent to his back for the entire period without even pretending like your're working for the fall and they won't call anything. Medicine_Man 875 Report post Posted September 4, 2013 Kessel could've called stalling on Churella with DF's proposed rule change, it would've fit nicely into the way he called that match... photo by fadzaev2
DF 181 Report post Posted September 5, 2013 Would you call stalling when top man is tilting then ? If 3NF have been awarded from the tilt and the tilter is only holding his opponent in that position without trying to get the pin, then yes it's stalling. It's like getting a takedown off a single leg and then proceeding to only hold on to that leg without doing anything else...stalling.
