Is Jordan Burroughs The Greatest Human Ever (GHE)?

Recommended Posts

New Acronym, GHE (Ghee)

I'm putting him top three for sure.

1) Jesus

2) Moses

3) Jordan Burroughs

4) Mother Teresa

You might think MT should be above JB, but has she ever broken her ankle and cared for the lepers? Also, one could argue that JB would certainly have been allowed into Canaan, so he should jump up a spot. New list:

1) Jesus

2) Jordan Burroughs

3) Moses

4) Mother Teresa

Thoughts??

Mother Teresa suffered a heart attack in Rome in 1983, while visiting Pope John Paul II. After a second attack in 1989, she received an artificial pacemaker. In 1991, after a battle with pneumonia while in Mexico, she suffered further heart problems. She offered to resign her position as head of the Missionaries of Charity, but the sisters of the order, in a secret ballot, voted for her to stay. Mother Teresa agreed to continue her work as head of the order.[54]

In April 1996, Mother Teresa fell and broke her collar bone. In August she suffered from malaria and failure of the left heart ventricle. She had heart surgery but it was clear that her health was declining. The Archbishop of Calcutta, Henry Sebastian D'Souza, said he ordered a priest to perform an exorcism on Mother Teresa with her permission when she was first hospitalised with cardiac problems because he thought she may be under attack by the devil.[55]

You guys are missing a big one here: former wrestler Norman Borlaug:

Norman Ernest Borlaug (March 25, 1914 – September 12, 2009)[2] was an American agronomist, humanitarian and Nobel laureate who has been called "the father of the Green Revolution",[3] "agriculture's greatest spokesperson"[4] and "The Man Who Saved A Billion Lives".[5] He is one of seven people to have won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal[6] and was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor.[7]

At Cresco High School, Borlaug played on the football, baseball and wrestling teams, on the latter of which his coach, Dave Barthelma, continually encouraged him to "give 105%."

This is the man who is credited with saving more lives than any other human being who has ever lived. Repeat that sentence to yourselves a few times and roll it around in your mind. That is right up there with winning multiple consecutive World and Olympic medals in my book. He was one of the six honorees at the Evening with Legends event in conjunction with the Worlds when they were held at Madison Square Garden in 2003. The others were Rumsfeld, Hastert, Friedman, Irving, and John Vaughan.

Ok so where do you put him on the list?

I missed the part where he did all that with something broken.

It's taboo to say but Mother Teresa is actually quite controversial. Until Burroughs has a documentary made about his array of negative attributes (eg well documented struggles with his golf swing and basketball skills) then I would put him far above on this very important list

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa

For example, she didn't permit painkillers for the sick in her orphanages or bother to sterilize needles. In Jordan Burroughs' orphanages, he would give up his own painkiller prescribed for his ankle to those more needy than himself. Burroughs has never campaigned extensively against birth control leading to the spread of AIDS in Africa, at least that I'm aware of. Jerry Falwell never professed his love for Jordan Burroughs nor were there violent crusades inspired by His gospel, therefore there's an argument for him up against Jesus?

Even Moses had his questionable moments... http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=numbers%2031:13-31:18&version=KJV To my knowledge, Burroughs has never ordered the mass genocide of "every male among the little ones", but at least Moses had the good heart to allow life for all female children who had yet to have intercourse. Thankfully non-consensual sex never occurred during those times so it's not like this is "slut-shaming" or anything.

Maybe it should go (1a) Jesus (1b) Burroughs (2) Nobel Peace Prize Winner Barack Obama (3) Norman Borlaug (4) (4) Martin Luther King Jr. (5) Tim Tebow (6) Metcalf, circa sophomore year Iowa (7) Prince (8) Abbas Jadidi (9) Mary

(10) Robin Williams

Can you list where Dake, Taylor, Cael and Gable would rank here?

1) Taylor

2) Jesus

3) Burroughs

4) Gable

5) Moses

6) Mother Theresa

7) Cael

8) Pico

Honorable Mention:

Dake, Metcalf

I'd work Mocco in there somewhere.

They thought about making AGON 2 Mocco v. Pico, but honestly what's the point? That kid has some heavy hands for a Sophomore.

On topic: How do you guys see the fantasy matchup of Broken Ankle Burroughs vs Broken Ankle Dake?

It's been said that taking a blast double from JB can immediately cure one of cancer.

It's been reported that touching his new gold ASICS while he wears them makes god cry. Hence why no one has touched them to date.

Rumor has it that JB once swam into the waters at the Jersey Shore to save a sinking ship filled with kittens, puppies and human babies. He put the anchor between his teeth and took off, all the while hitting counter offensive techniques on the hundreds of bull sharks that were circling the ship.

Legend states that the main character in the new Robocop is based on JB, even if they couldn't make Robocop manly, powerful or exciting enough.

The World's Most Interesting Man? JB was his mentor.

Has anyone ever seen JB and Superman in the same place at the same time? Just sayin'.

It's been rumored that Chuck Norris wears Jordan Burroughs undies.

Burroughs attended a tournament in the Virgin Islands needless to say the name has been changed.

Given what is currently known about the effects of GMO's, Roundup and various other nefarious and otherwise evil deeds of Monsanto and other industrial Ag entities generating obscene profits while poisoning the planet, it might be inadvisable to draw such attention to Mr. Borlaug's role.

It really depends on how you look at it. I'll try 2.

(1) If you're coming from the angle of single most challenging day of all time, it's a two man race between two JB's: Jordan Burroughs vs. Jack Bauer. To match Bauer's longevity, Burroughs will have to injure a different limb for each of the next 6 or 7 world cycles (I think there were like 8 seasons of 24).

(2) If you're looking at it from the angle of who has done the most good for humanity, I'm not sure JB stacks up. People like Samuel B. Fay (invented the paper clip) or Ingrid Newkirk (leader of PETA) have got to be somewhere in the top 3.

This thread its totally sacreligious. You guys should really cut this out.

I mean are you seriously putting JB behind Jesus? And where's Mocco?

Here's my edit:

10. Mocco (OSU years)

9. The "Beast Mode" kid (see

)

8. Jason Welch (high school years only)

7. Jesus

6. Scandar Ackbar

5. Dake

4. Taylor (yes, Dake loses yet another "on paper" match to Taylor. But at least he beat the Lord.)

3. Mocco (Iowa years)

2. Billy Baldwin (honorary GHE)

1. JB
