JohnnyThompsonnum1 102 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 With the addition of all of the new teams, it'll make a total of 18. I imagine that they'll do 16 man brackets with 2 pig tail matches? Will this cause the tournament to be an extra day? How is this going to exactly work?

quaker118 12 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 Johnny we will definitely remain a 2 day tournament. It's going to be very exciting with 18 teams this year, a lot of quality kids coming to the EIWA this year.
Plasmodium 2,266 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 I don't understand pigtails all that well, but wouldn't it require four pigtails per bracket?

I believe the conference event bylaws require 4 mats (meant to not be less than that but I don't think it says that). Each extra kid adds 2 bouts to a double elim format which then adds up to 80 extra bouts on 4 mats = 20 bouts per mat. Probably means we won't do like the B1G where we often go with semis first day but I haven't seen a proposed schedule.
