DF 181 Report post Posted November 24, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2PuYTYVuu8 I see another weight getting cut and I want it to come back No political correctness anymore I want time to turn back I see the girl wrestlers walk by wearing their singlets like they're clothes I have to turn my head until my anger goes I see a line of weight classes gone and they're not coming back I see people turn their heads and quickly look away Another men's weight class getting cut, it just happens everyday I look inside myself and see my hatred is coming back I see it's the women's fault that our weight classes aren't coming back Maybe their sport will fade away and we won't have to face the facts It's not easy supporting them when our whole sport is under attack No more will we have enough weights to satisfy all of you I could not forsee this injustice happening to you If I rage hard enough into the setting sun The women will laugh as another one of weight classes is cut I see a woman wrestling and I want her to go back No political correctness anymore I want time to turn back I see the girl wrestlers walk by wearing their singlets like they're clothes I have to turn my head until my anger goes Hmm, hmm, hmm... I wanna see it go back, give us our weights back! I wanna see women's wrestling blotted out from our sport! I wanna see our weights taken, taken, taken back! Yeah! Hmm, hmm, hmm... paboom 204 Report post Posted November 24, 2013 I've never replied to any of DF's posts but felt compelled this time. I agree 100%. I've been arguing for 10 years that female wrestling not only was not going to help mens wrestling but could actually hurt it in the long term and I've kept arguing it even though "some" people are trying their hardest to make it politically incorrect to do so. No one is talking about the insanity of the men and women each having the same amount of weight classes in the olympics, there is no way someone can rationally explain that decision. Here in PA, a girl is suing a school district who has a policy that both boys and girls cannot compete in a opposite sex sport and this school is Title IX compliant. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index. ... de_gi.html There is no such thing as The Pennsylvania Wrestling Club and I think it is a mask for the wowpa club (women only wrestling) which seems it is more political in nature than wrestling. The lawyers representing this were recommended by the ACLU. If people want girls wrestling, then do it like most other sports startups like lacrosse. Get together as many girls from neighboring school districts and go the club route. Once numbers grow and it becomes a viable sport then go to your state athletic association and your home school and get them to make it an official sport. But I fear that will never happen because there will never be enough girls.....ever.
2td3nf 588 Report post Posted November 24, 2013 Yeah, I'm getting real scared that NCAA men's wrestling will be the next target. (Again!)
2td3nf 588 Report post Posted November 24, 2013 paboom, BTW, a lot of us complained about how ridiculous it is that men and women have equal amount of weight classes on the international level. Apples and oranges. The politically correct crowd calls it gender equality. I call it tyranny.
LtWtLooker 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2013 These are similar voices to those who refused to incorporate women into sports 50 years ago. Those who caused the problem imo. Unisex was the way to go but all the idiots did not want to compete with a "bunch of girls". Stooopid Canoopid struck then. Now, nearly all sports are bifurcated and men's are losing places. The same flawed reasoning allowed the "gender equality" thing to gain traction in the first place. "We aint wrasslin (playing basket, base, foot, volley ball with "no girls") While I realize this is spilt milk, had the old, hidebound morons, in charge, embraced women ,as they were intended to be embraced, there never would have been an issue. Pun intended. An answer would be to unite with women and demand more slots for all sports rather than to let the same bunch of old line PC twits running NFHS, NCAA and IOC call the tune. It should be transparent to even the most obtuse that these old money grubbing fogeys are using divide and conquer to further their aims. Go here to "Business Insider ( regarded as non partisan) to read of IOC. Article claims they ripped out $8 Billion from 2009-2012 cycle. Most should be able to read it in > 10 mins. http://www.businessinsider.com/finances ... drennial-

Ramone8 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2013 My cover-band of wrestlers, "The Rolling Stones" (the rolling is for drilling, and the stones is for weight increments) has actually been playing this song of DF's locally, and receiving massive fan support. So much so, that we introduced a new cover-track into the mix. Angie, Angie, why did all these weights disappear? Angie, Angie, where will it lead wrestling from here? With no loving for our sport, and no money in our short-shorts You can't say we're on the rise But Angie, Angie, you can't say we never tried Angie, you're quite skilled, but don't cut out the guys Angie, I still love you, remember drilling those slide-bys? All the dreams we held so close, and now I'm skin and bones Let me whisper in your ear: Angie, Angie, why did my weight class disappear? Oh, Angie, don't you know, you can wrestle in Rio, Look at our emaciated eyes But Angie, Angie, please don't cut the guys With no loving for our sport and no money in our short-shorts You can't say we're on the rise But Angie, I still love you, baby But Everywhere I look I see less guys There ain't no women that comes close to you Come on baby, my kidneys are fried But Angie, Angie, at least wrestling's alive Angie, Angie, my weight class has died. Come on out to the next show!
LemonPie 1,368 Report post Posted November 27, 2013 I was watching some old mens 48kg matches the other day. What clown ever thought up such a silly weight class?
Matburn155 3 Report post Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah 48kg is pretty crazy. That's the same weight (106) as our smallest weight class in high school! I guess some of the Asian countries might have guys that are naturally this weight, with a weight cut. I remember those watching some of those matches and it looked like Skeletor vs Skeletor.
