scribe 1,824 Report post Posted January 3, 2014 If anything, this takes the sting out of what Ruth did to lewnes during Mack's unbeatable campaign. No matter how dominating you are, there is someone gunning for you that can beat you on any given day.

No matter how dominating you are, there is someone gunning for you that can beat you on any given day. Agreed - and Lewnes is probably one of the best examples of that axiom. In both 2009 and 2010, he was undefeated and ranked # 1 going into the NCAA's. In 2009, he went 0-2 and did not place. In 2010, he advanced to the finals only to lose to Borschel by a 6-2 decision. Then, in his senior year in 2011, he was again undefeated and ranked # 1 until Ruth beat him 11-5 in the Scuffle semi-finals. Unfortunately for Lewnes, it seems that he was always a bridesmaid, but never the bride.
