Reimagining NCAA wrestling...

Recommended Posts

If this were to have any chance of success the sites for matches needs to be set FAR in advance so fans could make plans to attend as well as venues having time to market the meets.. Otherwise I see nearly empty arenas.

unfortunately i dont think you can get more than a week, 2 weeks MAX, of advance planning for at least the first stage.

Can't get more than a week or 2 max? .....they do it just fine YEARS in advance for Bball

for the neutral sites sure you can plan years in advance. the problem is advance planning for the home duals.

It shouldn't be all that difficult for teams to move stuff around for NCAA Championships competition. Heck, in other sports (men's soccer, women's volleyball, just to name a couple) it's done all the time.

right, i dont think it will be a prohibitive problem, i was just distinguishing the two different circumstances for AKHUNTER.

interesting thread.

1. No points carry over to the NCAA's. Period. WTF??? The winners of the duals are going to be the best teams already.

2. All duals are at neutral sites. No home duals what so ever. If indeed we are trying to "grow" the sport, the duals should be out at the schools that did not qualify for the duals. They have the room, and nothing on the schedule. Other wise the rich get richer. (unless there is a money sharing aspect that I'm not seeing)
