Just FYI, Chishko cruised to a 19-4 TF in his first match as #1 seed at 145 in the WPIAL AAA tournament tonight.

To bad Chishko was injured for PowerAde. Would have liked to have seen him matched against Nolf and

Maruca from Franklin Regional. I think Nolf beat Maruca by about 6 in the finals.

Looks like Chishko and Maruca may meet in finals.

Here's a very early Dapper Dan preview article from this morning's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/2014 ... 1402240066

Key item is that they have already invited Jason Nolf to wrestle 145. (FYI, he just won his 4th WPIAL (AA) title this weekend.)

Nolf will wrestle Tyler Berger who is also the last man to beat him, 2-0 at Flo Nationals. Berger went on to face Aaron Pico in the finals and he beat Pico in the first period, then wrestled two more pretty even periods. This kid is really good.

I am still picking Nolf.

Yeah, Berger really brought it to Pico.

Hmm, so they found a way to get both Chishko and Galasso in there. I thought Chishko handled him pretty easily last night in the finals.

Warner started out like a ball of fire last night, but after that ITO on the edge of the mat he stopped wrestling. Should have been hit with a stall call to send it in to OT, I think the Franklin Regional kid got robbed a little in the third period (although he clearly allowed himself to get in a hole in the first). Hope Warner is 100% come DD time.

Most likely by tomorrow. Probably have to get official confirmations and arrangements in order. I can say for a fact tho that Marstellar definitely isn't wrestling. He made that clear in his interviews last night.

Damn. Injuries suck. Marsteller/Nickal was like the 4th potential matchup for Chance that I really wanted to see, but never happened.

Jordan Rogers (FS)

Massa

Jordan

Nickal

Guess he could hit Nickal down the road. I really wonder if Chance can stay healthy in college. He's already had a few injuries.

Story and both PA and WPIAL rosters here:

http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/hsot ... 1403100089

Thomas Haines throws down the gauntlet to Nevills...

"The Pennsylvania team will have Solanco's Thomas Haines (174-5), who shared the spotlight with Marsteller in Hershey by becoming the 11th and 12th four-time champions in PIAA history. Haines, an Ohio State recruit, is thrilled to be chosen for the event March 16 at Pitt's Fitzgerald Fieldhouse.

"Wrestling in the Classic will be a great way to conclude my high school career," said Haines, who claimed the PIAA Class AAA title at 285 pounds Saturday. "I want to prove to everybody that I'm better than Nick Nevills. I've never faced him before. I'm really looking forward to the challenge."

Nevills (200-5), a Penn State recruit, is a three-time California state champion from Clovis High School."
