Tripster 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2012 Would you rather be a 125 or a HWT NCAA champion?
Medicine_Man 875 Report post Posted March 15, 2012 I think winning a 125 title would be more of an achievement, and I am more impressed with the speed and agility of 125 pounders. But winning a HWT title would might open more doors down the road....maybe NFL...or the Sumo circuit like Jadidi took.' 1 Doc_Hfuhruhurr reacted to this

lowrider 8 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 Do wrestlers get tested for steroids at NCAAs? I remember a video after Dake won nationals his freshman year where they had him take a urine test. I am not sure what the test was for or who gets tested though.

jstock 125 Report post Posted April 21, 2012 Doubtful, unfortunately not too many throws in FS wrestling anymore under the current rules which allow you to block and back up.... But instead of throws and action we have the push out and ball grab

Dr_Gonzo 1 Report post Posted June 3, 2012 Lofthouse was third losing in the semis 1-0 1-0 to Steinhaus. He beat Hamlin and Trotman on the backside. 1-0 1-0 is a frustrating way to lose, but all in all a good showing for Lofthouse and he beat some good dudes. tec87 349 Report post Posted June 3, 2012 If we're talking University Nationals, how about Nelson beating Dom Bradley in the finals at 120kg. That's a damn good win for him and certainly a good confidence boost this upcoming season for him(not that the reigning champ should need a confidence boost). I only mention this as a big win since some on here used the fact that Bradley and Trice (3rd and 4th the previous year) were taking an Olympic redshirt and the fact that Flores went down early with the concussion as a way to sort of discredit his title. tec87 349 Report post Posted June 3, 2012 Has Tony Nelson ever wrestled freestyle before? He defended that clinch pretty well. He was 4th at University Nationals last year, he was 3rd in the 2010 Junior WTT challenge tournament, he was the 2009 215lb junior freestyle national champ and was 8th in fargo in 2008. Tripster 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2012 Has anyone ever failed a drug test at NCAAs?
Medicine_Man 875 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 Has anyone ever failed a drug test at NCAAs? It is a little known fact that DF, after winning state, had a short stint at a D1 college, on a half scholarship, but tested positive at the Early Bird Christmas Tournament....actually it was a breathalyzer test administered just before the finals. He claimed alcohol was not a PED. He was forced to forfeit the match and asked to leave the arena, but when his finals opponent walked out onto the mat to have his hand raised, DF ran out there also, incognito, wearing a fake moustache. He tried to hold his opponent's arm down as the ref tried to raise the arm. He was handcuffed by security, escorted to the locker room. Police were called when a large amount of white powder was found inDF's locker and he was arrested with intent to distribute. So I'm not sure if anyone has ever tested positive at the NCAAs, but I can almost guarantee that had DF made it that far, he would've been the first. 1 Doc_Hfuhruhurr reacted to this
