Wealthy Wrestler Thread

Recommended Posts

You don't have to state how much you're worth. We will know if you're one of us by how you act and from other subtle clues that only people of our status can pick up on.

If you dress all flashy and outright brag about your exact monetary value then we will know you're just another dime-a-dozen "new money" wannabe. We dress down. The unrefined wouldn't know the difference between us and them based on just our clothes. But there's almost always something that gives it away. You see a guy in normal looking clothes and then...BAM!...there's a watch on his wrist that only a connoisseur of the finer things would know costs well over an average person's yearly income. Or you look down and...BAM!...he's wearing a pair of shoes that cost more than an average person's monthly income.

That's what I mean by subtle clues. The watch we wear, representing our time, is worth more than all the time you spend at work in a year. The shoes we wear, we walk all over your monthly income with them. But you wouldn't pick up on that. All you would think is "cool watch" or "nice shoes".

We speak with impeccable enunciation and a crisp tone, representing our elite private school education. Our vocabulary, like our clothing, is understated because we have no need to impress you by using big words. But every once in a while we throw in a word or phrase you've never heard of, but those at our status level immediately know we're one of them by how we speak and what we say (and more importantly, what we leave unsaid).

Likewise, when we speak we are speaking to you, not with you. You're listening to what we're saying, much like how you're reading what I'm saying here. Much like when I shook my opponent's hand before a match I would grab all four of his fingers so he couldn't shake my hand. I shake your hand, not the other way around.

So this is a thread for us. Please join us if you belong, but we will know if you're pretending to be one of us.

Do you wear a watch the bourgeois would look at and say "cool watch"? If so, I'm starting to question your story. Let me guess...you are currently sporting a flashy, oversized, over embellished monstrosity that barely fits under your dark blue, department store, shirt cuff? I highly doubt your money was inherrited.

I love my Michigan winters. I drive my Aventador in the winter and my Cayenne in the summer simply because I can. When you have REAL money you don't have to do what is considered normal or sensible. YOU decide what is normal or sensible.

I have been debating buying the MSU wrestling program from my Alma Mater. This thread may be what it takes for me to do so. I will be the Head Coach. I will first hire Koll as my PR Specialist(750k with up to 1.25 mil in incentives). I will pay Sanderson a cool 1.5 mil annual salary to be the head recruiter. Terry and Tom will be my light weight coaches(1 mil each). I need some youth in the coaching staff so Mark Perry can handle the middle weights (500k with an incentives package). Damian Hahn looks to be about the best of the big guy bunch. I will give him 500k as well but I will give him a special incentive bonus tiered off of 285 performance. An extra 50k for an AA finish, 100k for finalist, 200k for NCAA champ and an extra 350k for a 285 Hodge winner. Of course I will also buy WIN and be the deciding vote on the Hodge winner.

Thank you all for this topic. I get bored easily and a new project will help me with said boredom. The wheels are turning my wrestling friends. The motivation has been sufficiently applied.
