Hubbard 426 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 Iran beat them bad a couple of times in a row (World Cup and train tracks). I think it will be much more of a battle this time. I can see the US winning this World Cup. At home, pissed off about getting beat up etc... Never underestimate the US drive.

armspin 257 Report post Posted March 11, 2014 Urishev was their Olympian. He has world championship potential and has won everything else. The other 84 is a young guy who beat him to take the works team spot last year but looked a bit in over his head at worlds. Emeev I the guy who lost to a bunch of Americans and then went back to Europe and started doing very well. I think Aliyev might be a bumped up 96. I don't know the others. A lot of the best Russians are skipping this to go I Europeans.
2td3nf 536 Report post Posted March 11, 2014 Sanakoev gave Burroughs a very tough match last summer. JB scored a takedown at the end to win it. Nail biter.

PRyan2012 343 Report post Posted March 13, 2014 Is Varner out of the Wolrd Cup?? It lists OLympic champions competing and VArner is not there. I would be very upset if I had bought a ticket based on Varner being there. VArner was listed as competing as of last week on USA wrestling. Hope he will be there and this is a misprint. There is a potential for Varner to battle Gatsalov and Yazdani who are the premier wrestlers of this era!
wrestlingphish 639 Report post Posted March 13, 2014 Richard Immel just responded to me on twitter saying that all matches will be streamed live. I'm assuming this will be on TheMat.tv. The Gold and Bronze medal matches will be shown on that NBC Universal Sports Network Monday March 24th at 8 eastern. Looks like its only 2 hours which means inevitably things will get cut from the broadcast.
Ryan 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2014 Yeah baby! Just bought my ticket (me only-no one else would understand except you guys) for Saturday. Row 3 around the free throw line. Not bad---$180 out the door print-at-home. Should be some phenomenal wrestling by the best teams and wrestlers (for the most part) in the world. We rarely get great wrestling events out here so I just had to go. Does anyone have our lineup,or is that subject to change?
