wrestlingnerd 2,765 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 My top pick: Stieber at 1-2. I'd bet heavily on those odds. My second pick: Minnesota at 3-1. Most undervalued team based on those odds.
cem5202 28 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 I'd bet everything I have on Taylor. Payoff might not be the best, but its guaranteed money.
MadMardigain 1,356 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 What do the full team results look like based on the Pre-Seeds? Sorry I don't really have the time to do basic tournament math at the moment so was hoping someone else did?

Matburn155 3 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 I like Derek St. John at 157 at 5-1 much better than Cory Clark at 125 at 6-1. I would throw some money on DSJ if I were a betting man.

TripNSweep 500 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 The year Burroughs came off his redshirt after he tore his knee up, the sportsbook I bet with that year had Burroughs at +250 against the field. Their basis apparently was previous year results, for which there were none since he'd been injured. Stupid guys over there.
Angry_Fish 313 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 I know of no bookmakers, legal or otherwise, who take action on conference tourneys. They do take limited action in Vegas for Nationals, but only on who will win a weight (and team champ). And they will not accept large wagers on the sport. Doubt you could get a bet in for greater than $2,500 unless you were a known player in the book (and maybe not even then). If anyone knows of a place that accepts conference action legally, please post. If any exist, I suspect the odds will be materially different than what was posted in that link above. I also don't think you will see more than a couple wrestlers at each weight to select from. Some weights, not all, might contain a FIELD option (like 165). jammen 312 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 I've always like the proposition bets. One year a sports book was offering who scores more points, Iowa schools or Pennsylvania schools? Wouldn't be much of a choice this year but back then it was a tossup.

"What a lot of people don't know is that you can bet on the NCAA wrestling tournament each year out in Vegas and some online sports books. Unfortunately, they don't have is odds on B1G wrestling or any other wrestling conference tournaments. Typically at each weight you can bet on what is called the money line. Vegas oddsmakers will put a money line on the top two or three wrestlers at each weight and then give the field increased odds."
LongShot 13 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 I'm not sure if you could ever bet on the NCAA tournament in vegas but as of last year's tournament only Sportsbook.com was taking action and it was watered down from years past.
