HurricaneWrestling 1,123 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Gibbons is saying St. John medically forfeited, but Track Wrestling has it the other way. Which is it?
IA_Hawk 9 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Realbuto forfeited against Green, so I'm guessing it's him. Only thing hurt with DSJ is his pride.
tec87 349 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 I'm pretty sure I even heard the announcer in the arena during the espn broadcast say DSJ won by forfeit.
HurricaneWrestling 1,123 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 That's what ESPN is showing on the screen now, so I guess Gibbons just missed that one. Thanks for the info.
wrestlingnerd 3,004 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Realbuto hurt his knee wrestling Dieringer. You could hear his scream of pain right as it happened. He was literally wobbling on the right leg at one point in the match, clearly hurt. I was pretty sure he was done after it happened, but he kept going and finished the match. LAWRENCE 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 I would say he got seriously injured. It sure looked like an acl or mcl tears and possible meniscus tear. really horrible injury. knees are meant to go one direction not diagonally. way too much action with knees bent in a dangerous manner. I think for the safety of the athletes it needs to stop.
wiedsworld 14 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Speaking of bent knees, I can't believe Schopp's knee didn't break off in the final sequence with Ramos. How the ref let that go was beyond me, then again a lot of these wrestlers put themselves in these situations.
LoStNuMbEr 320 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Really a bummer what happened in the semis, because Realbutto was wrestling very well and I think would have had a great chance of pulling the upset. The injury time gave Dieringer a free point, and Realbutto clearly could not shoot effectively after the injury, but it was still a close match
Guest Report post Posted March 23, 2014 It was a bummer to see Realbutto's tournament end like that, but he finished that match pretty darn hurt like a champ. Kid has crazy potential and I can't wait to see what he accomplishes in the next couple years
