Thoughts on PSU's line-up next year and finishing position at nationals?

125 Nico --- 3rd

133 Gulibon --- 8th

141 Retherford -- 2nd

149 Beitz (Nolf RS) DNP

157 D Alton -- 7th

165 Nickal -- 8th

174 Brown -- 1st

184 McCutcheon -- DNP

197 McIntosh --- 4th

275 Lawson (Nevills RS) -- 8th

If Rodney is correct, their line-up looks like this:

125: Conaway

133: Gulibon

141: Zain

149: Beitz/Nolf

157: Alton

165: Other Alton

174: Brown

184: McCutcheon

197: McIntosh

285: Gingrich/Lawson

I think they should RS the 4 N's - Nico, Nolf, Nickal and Nevills. Their 2016 lineup would project: Megaludis, Gulibon, Zain, Nolf, Rasheed, Hammond, Nickal, McCutcheon, McIntosh and Nevills. This lineup would also allow Nickal to grow from 174 to 184 like Ed Ruth did, and allows McCutcheon to grow from 84 to 97 like Quentin Wright. The two would bump up after Morgan leaves.

Other than McCutheon, that's a potential AA at each weight. PSU as an "underdog" is scary. Doesn't take much to keep that group motivated.

Brown 3rd or 4th. Storely and Kokesh ahead of him along with Evans at this point. I wouldn't count on AA status from Nickal as a true frosh, lucky to be round of 12. 165 will fill in now that Taylor has moved on. Mac will not move up that far. If Cox is still at 197 he is #1, I would put Schiller at 2, Gadsen 3, Snyder at 4 and Mac around 5-7 range. Lawson round of 12.

I could actually see Nolf AA at 149, he is that good and 149 is not the toughest weight. What I could really see is Retherford at 133 and Nolf at 141.

There is no way Nolf could make 141. I think making 149 might be a stretch as it is.

Pointless to rank 174 1-4. Brown was 2-2 against both Evans and Storley

What have you done for me lately, it doesn't matter that he was 2-2, what are the latest results? Storely was 1-2 vs. Kokesh and is now 3-2, so he deserves to be ranked ahead of him. Storely has beaten Brown 2x in a row now...guys figured Brown out, it happens.

Nolf is a twig, he could easily make 141, he needs to pack on some muscle for 149.

Gullibon would get worked even worse than he already does at 141, someone needs to introduce him to the PSU weight room! Retherford is too small for 149, have you stood next to him, I think he is like 5' 3" or 5' 4".

That lineup isn't sniffing top 3 next year.

David Taylor was also a twig entering college and look how much bigger he got. Nolf wrestled 145 this year and is still growing. His dad is also a big guy. I think he ends his career at 165 maybe even 174.

Don't know why that formatted so strange...

every "" control needs to be preceded by a corresponding "

". think of them to be similar to opening and closing parentheses. it appears as though you deleted three "
" controls at the beginning of your post.

Nice; This way figures to optimize the two year ...McIntosh at 184lbs could be a real force.

I absolutely think you move McIntosh to '84. He took it in the neck the last two years as an undersized '97. Now you let the kid realize his full potential.

But you point out something important, which is that PSU's year will be '15-'16, not '14-'15. I don't think they are quite going to have the horses next year.

I also think Morgan would thrive at 184 next year. I asked him about that after the Oklahoma St match and he said he would stay at 197. Take it for what it's worth.

Problem is .....I dont see McCutcheon or Phipps as being big enough to go 197 either.
