Projected Lineups 2014-15

Recommended Posts

Wisconsin Projected Lineup:

125 - Ryan Taylor RS Soph

133 - Jesse Thielke RS Soph

141 - Rylan Lubeck RS Soph / Andrew Crone RS Fr

149 - TJ Ruschell RS Soph / Andrew Crone RS Fr

157 - Isaac Jordan RS Soph

165 - Seth Liegel RS Fr / Ben Cox RS Sr / Jarod Donar Jr

174 - Jake Stilling RS Fr / Frank Cousins RS Sr / Dylan Izckowski RS Sr

184 - Ricky Robertson - RS Fr / Dylan Izckowski RS Sr

197 - Timmy McCall - RS Sr

285 - Connor Medbery - RS Jr

165 and 174 will have a series of Wrestleoffs most likely. Liegel and Stilling wrestled well in open tournaments. Robertson will be solid at 184. I am guessing Lubeck will go 141 and Thielke 133 - Lubeck wrestled 141 as a true Freshman and I think Thielke can easily make 133. Crone wrestled at both 141 and 149 this year and could be a surprise. Ruschell looked solid as a part time starter at 149, but will need to step up.

I dont think Lubeck sees 41 ever again what makes you think Thielke can make 33 "Easy"? Maintaining that weight all year is different then making that weight 1 time for a Greco tournament, I hope you are right as I think he would be a force at 33, just dont think it will be "Easy" or easy to maintain

Rutgers 1st season in the Big 10 should look close to this

125 Sean McCabe ..21-12 last season

133 Scott Delvecchio...NCO Champion

141 Anthony Ashnault...NCO Champion /Tyson Dippery...24-14 last season possible RS

149 Ken Theobold...22-14 last season NCAA Qualifier or NC State transfer Tyler Hunt 2013 NCAA Qualifier

157 Anthony Perrotti...8th NCAA

165 Nick Visicaro...2013 NCAA Qualifier

174 Phil Bakuckas...16-11 last season

184 Ethan Orr...former JUCO Champ or Hayden Hrymack 14-16 last season @197

197 Andrew Campolattano...Ohio State transfer 2x NCAA Qualifier

285 Billy Smith...2x NCAA Qualifier 27-8 last season

**Only 1 Senior in that lineup...Visicaro

I have to believe Orr is in the lineup at 184. That's a pretty solid lineup, depending on what you get from Ash and Camp.

I'll take a stab at the 2015 Hawks

125- Thomas Gilman

133- Corey Clark

141- Josh Dziewa

149- Brody Grothus or Brandon Sorenson

157- Mike Kelly

165- Nick Moore

174- Mike Evans

184- Sammy Brooks

197- Nathan Burak

HVY- Bobby Telford

Solid lineup with excellent AA potential at 125, 133, 165, 174, 197, and HVY and further realistic AA potential at 141 and 184. They may lack the high AA point getters necessary to make an NCAA team trophy the foregone conclusion to which Hawk fans have grown accustom.

My best guess for Michigan:

125 - Conor Youtsey

133 - Rossi Bruno

141 - Steve Dutton (Zac Hall redshirt)

149 - Cam Jackson/Angelo Latora/Alec Pantaleo

157 - Brian Murphy

165 - Taylor Massa

174 - Garrett Sutton/Davonte Mahomes

184 - Domenic Abounader/Max Huntley

197 - Max Huntley/Domenic Abounader

Hwt - Adam Coon

They're solid at nearly every weight. 149 and 174 are a bit unknown. I suspect Huntley is going back to 197.

Does anyone have any idea if Whitford has a chance of getting on campus after a year to work on his grades?

Pittsburgh

125: Dom Forys Fr/ Jake Gromacki Fr

133: Nick Zanetta RFr

141: Edgar Bright So/ Travis Shaffer RJr

149: Mikey Racciato So/ Travis Shaffer RJr

157: Ron Garbinsky RJr/ Cole Sheptock RSo

165: Cody Weircioch RFr/ Geno Morelli RSo

174: Tyler Wilps RSr

184: Max Thomusseit RSr

197: Nick Bonaccorsi RJr

285: John Rizzo RSo

Pitt enters next year with 1 returning AA, 2 returning R12 and 2-3 more potential AAs/R12 guys with a wild card in Rizzo, a 3time PA state champ who played football for two years and returned to wrestling this semester. Another solid dual team but will hold my breath come tournament time.

Don't be surprised if Ryan Solomon gives Bonaccorsi a run for the 197 spot.

Overall I expected Pitt to take a step back this year after losing M. Wilps and the bigger Thomusseit last offseason. They return a much more experienced team next season and should do better. Tyler Wilps and Max Thomussiet should start out top 5 and Bono should be top 10.

Derrick Nelson should be mentioned ahead of N. Zanetta at 133. He did beat him at wrestle offs. If he can make the weight, he should be listed ahead of both of the true freshmen as well.

Im also wondering if Solomon is going to move up to heavyweight next year.

anyone close to the 3 Iowa programs have a close look at what the Cyclones Hawkeyes and Panthers lineups could look like next season?

I only really care about tUNI-although I don't mind tISU-and even though I always THINK that I have an idea of what their lineup will look like, when the season comes around I'm always so dead wrong that I've stopped trying. It was getting as bad as locking in Loder at 184, only to find that he's really going 141!

For now, the only for sures that I will give is Peters at 125 and Cabell at 285. Other than that, homey ain't goin' there.

Plus a great recruit in Ryan Christensen from Washington.

The rumor mill has pretty much eliminated UofM as an option for Whitford. I personally do not see him wrestling for a DI program, however Illinois is the only DI school I have heard mentioned in quite a while.

Michigan and Illinois will be solid also.

Potential Illinois Line-Up

125 Jesse Delgado

133 Zane Richards

141 Stephen Rodriguez

149 Caleb Ervin or Kyle Langenderfer

157 Isaiah Martinez or Zac Brunson

165 Jackson Morse or Zac Brunson

174 Nikko Reyes or Jeff Koepke

184 Jeff Koepke or Nikko Reyes

197 Michael Pixley

HVY Brooks Black or Chris Lopez

I thought Pixley did not qualify for D1 through the clearinghouse and signed with an NAIA school???

Huskers

125 - Tim Lambert

133 - Eric Montoya

141 - Anthony Abidin

149 - Jake Sueflohn

157 - James Green

165 - Austin Wilson

174 - Robert Kokesh

184 - TJ Dudley

197 - Aaron Studebaker/Derek White

285 - Collin Jensen

Is there a reason Spencer Johnson isn't listed as the 197 starter? Also, I think McCrystal starts at 133 or 141 if he doesn't shirt.

Gulibon needs to brush up on his technique and match strategy/tactics too. I always hear the size issue brought up with Gulibon, but never the technique issue. He really let many PSU fans down this year with his performance. I wonder what his future looks like. Will Conaway be challenging for 133 next year?

Name a PSU fan that Gulibon let down with his performance.

Don't include a question in your response, either.

Just the names of us Penn Staters that you claim he let down.

Get to it...

I don't think you'd know them all Old Marine. I'm not sure they'd all want me to include their feelings about Gulibon in public.

You are unfortunately correct. Pixley was indeed a classroom casualty. The Illini lost Pixley and attempted to recover by grabbing Andre Lee from OPRF late. They view Lee as one of these really gifted athletes who is relatively green and has not yet scratched the surface of his potential ceiling. More of a project then a finished product at this point.

I'm hearing that the Illini would like to use I-Mar, Morse, and Brunson between 157 and 174, with Brunson the likely guy to jump all the way up from 157 to 174. Word is that Nikko Reyes is staying put at 184. Also hearing some suggestion that Kyle Langenderfer may push Ervin at 149. We'll see.

To date the 2014-15 Illini lineup is now looking like this:

125- Jesse Delgado

133- Zane Richards

141- Stephen Rodrigues

149- Caleb Ervin

157- Isaiah Martinez

165- Jackson Morse

174- Zac Brunson

184- Nikko Reyes

197- Jeff Koepke

HVY- Brooks Black

Michigan and Illinois will be solid also.

The scoop at the Mizzou party at the NCAA touring on Saturday - Waters has decided on 125 - Jaunch is cutting to 133 - Cox supposedly said he is going to 285

Go Tigers

Actually, I just talked to J'den last night and he is definitely staying at 197. Also, he said Willie is already down close to 184. So, I'd say Fudge's hopes are pretty much on target.
