Sharratt named new Navy head coach

Recommended Posts

Antonelli should have been given the job.

I could have supported that. Brian is a stand-up guy and an excellent coach; and being a USNA graduate is a big plus. I think Navy is pretty conservative in selecting their head coaches...

I was wondering the same thing. Probably proximity to PA, NJ, NY.

Oh yea. Duh.

I was wondering why the Navy job would be better than AF. Although as far as cities go I'd choose Colorado Springs.

Annapolis is a great city.

Has there been any word on the next Air Force coach or even a job posting? Both of the current assistants are very experienced as coaches and in the Academy setting, and either seems like a good choice. Maybe they would both stay.

No disrespect to the AFA, but when you consider history, conference, scheduling, the recruiting base, etc., Navy is a demonstrably better program over the long term by just about every measure. (How much is AFA able to exploit its proximity to the USOTC, anyway?)

Good luck to Sharratt, and to AFA in filling their position.
