tightwaist 388 Report post Posted April 18, 2014 Super exciting match, but can someone decipher the scoring for me in this match? First period is straightforward, but 2nd period gets confusing. Did Green get exposure off of TD to make it 7-6? Then crazy scramble makes score 9-8...at this point I am confused. Someone help http://www.flowrestling.org/coverage/25 ... 1Gqb4y9KSM
Dartsingle 6 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 Agreed - scoring was tough. I felt like Welch came out on the wrong side of scoring twice - One being in the last seconds when they went out of bounds (I thought Welch had 2 exposure points there). Dartsingle 6 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 Stop posting links to matches only available to paid subscribers. Total BS in my opinion. Pretty sure a lot of people are watching US Open via Flo - so while your opinion is that it is BS....The opinion of many is that it is very valid...considering it is a HUGE tourney for US wrestlers and Flo is covering. So while it is your choice to not pay for Flo - I don't think you can tell people to "stop posting" - If the Mat.com forum admins allow it...then it's game. wrestlpsu 6 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 welch is a blast to watch.... i was matside at this match, and i dont think refs keep good accounting of flurries.... just my opinion. i've noticed it in other matches also....the refs are extremely "lax" in their approach
GranbyTroll 431 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 Best match of the tournament so far, IMO. I agree with wrestlepsu, the reffing seems very off. A lot of guys have only gotten 2pts on multiple exposures, and the pushout vs takedown/exposure scoring hasn't been consistent at all. It seems like the US refs have taken plays from the FILA refs in hosing the US wrestlers.
wrestlpsu 6 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 the problem with freestyle wrestling is the bogus back exposure points. you roll a guy and you get points ? the object of wrestling is to put a guy on his back for one second.....not a roll through. . so by awarding bogus points for only exposing your back makes scoring very difficult. especially in scrambles and lifts. . it wont change, so you gotta deal with the ridiculousness of it all. GockeS 403 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 bogus points. i figured most PSU fans would be new to wrestling...but back exposure is older than dirt.
wrestlpsu 6 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 lol.... i was referring to the fact that the refs seem to have a problem with counting when it comes to back exposures.... so to simplify it for them, do away with the bogus back exposures. . evidently some folks only read the last post in a thread.....ugh
