wrestlingnerd 2,774 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 Interesting that he boxes from an orthodox stance. Is Pico a natural leftie or rightie? His boxing stance implies he's a rightie. His wrestling stance implies he's a leftie. I wonder if he's a rightie who taught himself to wrestle with a left lead leg so that his transition to MMA would not require a stance adjustment. Having the ability to box and wrestle your best with the same lead leg is a big advantage in MMA.

I write left, and throw right, shoot left, can switch hit, and so on. It is a version of being ambidextrous. It's may be like that.

It is a lot easier to learn to wrestle leftie if you're a rightie than to box southpaw if you're a rightie.

I used to watch him as a little kid but I am getting old and for the life of me can't remember which way he wrestled. Then again, back then he was a tough little kid, but just one of many, and not the world beater he is now, otherwise i would have paid better attention. ;-)
Ryan 2 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 He's a great kid, smart and focused. He's like a Gable when it comes to training.

snapspinscore 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2014 I'm a righty, but I box left handed. It just always felt comfortable that way.
sgallan 592 Report post Posted April 20, 2014 This is my favorite Pico video. Yeah, shows those quick, timed, heavy hands, and reflexes/timing he is just brutalizing people with now and wasn't even breathing hard at the end. Good video.
