New DIII Program: University of the Ozarks

Recommended Posts

While I'm sure we're all talking about the phenomenal Beat the Streets match ups, Pritzlaff to Rutgers, and Doug Schwab re-upping for seven more years at UNI, here is a story that might've slipped through the cracks. As we all can agree, we NEED more college wrestling programs. We need to grow the sport at the NCAA D1, D2 and D3 levels, not to mention NAIA and NJCAA.

Penn College of Technology and Alfred State College already have teams and are both in the provisional period of joining DIII.

Ferrum College had their first season this past year, while Mount St. Vincent began the year before, and Alma the year before that.

Lots of growth in Division III wrestling. Remember this the next time someone says that wrestling is dying.
