Eiter to UMD

Recommended Posts

To us, of Minnesota extraction, we can't help but think that he has committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth (tUMD), which is a national hockey giant, year in and year out.

In all seriousness, though, does the University of Maryland actually abbreviate tUMD (minus my ever so clever mocking lowercase "t.")?

Clever does not do it justice.

Couldn't resist getting yourself banned, could you? HA! HA!

Take note, folks. 16 of his past 20 posts have been in direct reply to something I've said, UNSOLICITED. For numbers kinds of folks, that's 80% of his posts. If you go back further, that number likely gets closer to 90%

Also, you're applying the 't' incorrectly. It would only be correct if the school's official name starts with "the'.

Incorrect:

Though even then it wouldn't be commonly used or accepted...

All well and good, but that does bring up my second pernt: so, then, ah, who is the imposter school that makes Penn State have to stress that they are THE Penn State? :P

Either way, it's a recent thing that they started going by that, and, yes, it makes them look like ridiculous.

SHP- that was my thought as well. UPENN and UMD are comparable programs on paper though the IVY league aspect might push UPENN ahead though the BIg ten is better than the EIWA and U Maryland is a very good school as well.

I find this one to be a bit odd as well. Is Kerry off to other challenges and they are setting up a succession plan? Very odd turn of events unless he was forced out at Penn

If he wasn't forced out, he should've been. He's probably a good assistant and surely a nice enough guy, but he was not getting it done at Penn. Penn needs a much better head coach to realize it's program's significant potential.

Can't say I disagree entirely. While there were some good individual results during his Eiter's tenure and he was almost universally well-liked as a person, hard to argue that recruiting and overall team performance hadn't fallen off. Eiter himself was quoted as saying he no longer had the energy for the Penn job.

Could it be as simple as Rob not enjoying the role of a head coach and all that comes with it, but prefers the role of an on mat assistant and being more hands on? Sometimes you have to go through the job you think you want to find out it's not what you want after all.
