Muhlenberg College Head Coach Receives Liver Transplant

Recommended Posts

Jake Calhoun, the head wrestling coach at Muhlenberg College, was the recipient of an emergency liver transplant in June. Muhlenberg is a Division III college in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Calhoun had previously coached at SUNY-Cortland and Gettysburg College after his wrestling career at UW-Stevens Point.

Calhoun was in Daytona Beach, Florida, preparing for weigh-ins at the Greco World Team Trials when he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. He had qualified for the tournament by winning the Northeast Regional at 66kg. Take a look at the article linked below for more as well as the link to his National Foundation for Transplants website.
