lu_alum 924 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Ian Brown looked solid. I'd like to see him go against Randy Cruz. http://www.lehighsports.com/news/2014/10/30/WREST_1030140459.aspx Lehigh Wrestle-offs125 – Jonathan Mele (White) dec. EastCoaster 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 Huh, cool seeing an exhibition with Zach Rey! I hope more programs throw post college guys in for weights already decided, as an exhibition. Disappointing to see Peppelman lose.

Clarion did the same. Don't see it happen much. http://board.themat.com/index.php?/topic/7717-clarion-blue-gold/
superbowlhomeboy 235 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 The Martinez/Peppelman result is an interesting one. They couldn't have had more different wrestling backgrounds heading into college and have taken vastly different routes since then, though both have ended up in the same place fighting for the same spot. Will be interesting to see what happens with 165/174 going forward. Doesn't seem like much of the PA folks gave Martinez a chance.
TLS62pa 56 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 Scott Parker and Ian Brown are both redshirting, right? Pretty sure Parker is slated to start. Ian would have to beat Randy Cruz to take 141.
lu_alum 924 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 I think 125 was intended to be a Parker/Timchenko/Mele decision, and Brown is a planned RS. I'd still like to see how Brown matches up against R. Cruz.

Shows what hard work can get you. He placed 5th and 3rd at Florida States, rather humble for the upper echelon of wrestling - then went on to be a bracket buster everywhere. Killed NCWAs, 4th at the US Open in Greco.. I'm sure no one saw that coming, let alone him apparently winning the spot at a decent Div.1 school. All the power to him. lu_alum 924 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 Peppelman did not appear to wrestle any differently than he had at Cornell. No real offense from neutral (or anywhere, for that matter). He did have a possible late TD that may have been reviewable to send the bout into SV, but didn't request the replay. I just hope the lack of offense was due to familiarity of a practice partner.
