silver-medal 670 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Morgan McIntosh at 197 reminds me of Zach Sanders at 125.
LordNelson 552 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 When a PSU fan grossly over-predicts the future based on no past results it makes other look to put down quality wrestlers like MM. It ticks me off reading about AA's and how they "aren't as good" as blah blah.
redblades 322 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Lax..I knew Mac took 7th last year. I was simply stating that he would have AAed both years andI will add that if he were at 184 for 4 years he would be a 4X AA with 1/2 Titles! Best fantasy fan ever! TBar1977 4,494 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Has McIntosh ever scored an offensive point against Cox? Not trying to hate on him, but I don't think he's ever even threatened to score a take down, has he? I don't believe he has. Not too many wrestlers have. 1 tigerfan9311 reacted to this

Perry 1,423 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 He wouldnt have won any titles at 84 unless he beat Ruth to start...which he never would have... I think he was implying that he would be a title threat at this point in his career (with no Ruth to contend with). I don't think it's a stretch to think he could be in the mix at 184 this season if he was able to make that weight and compete.
Flying-Tiger 617 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 I'm in the camp that thinks McIntosh would have to drop to possibly win a championship. Cox is just too physically imposing for Morgan and he doesn't have the frame to change that.
VQLSWAIN 2 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Cox bumped up to HWT and won. There was talk of him bumping up for the season and finishing somewhere in the 3-8 range at the NCAAs @ HWT. Where would MM finish at HWT? It isn't really a fair comparison. Cox is like a HWT coming down to 197, while it appears MM is not. Discuss?
Perry 1,423 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Cox was able to win at HVY (assuming he appropriately trained to wrestle the season at that weight). I think he's technically superior to everyone there and has the physical gifts to back up his technique. 1 silver-medal reacted to this

mlbruem 141 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Yes seriously - Have a feeling you are going to find out in 2yrs as I would not be surprised to see Cox redshirt next year then come back as a heavy.
jjtmea6 1 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 you guys should not sleep on Snyder if you recall last year cox had some uncharacteristic loses at the beginning of the year and none of you would have given Heflin a chance in a million years to win a title
LandLord1Bob 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 you guys should not sleep on Snyder if you recall last year cox had some uncharacteristic loses at the beginning of the year and none of you would have given Heflin a chance in a million years to win a title No offense to Heflin but he kinda grabbed lightning in a bottle last season. I didn't expect that from watching him in prior seasons. Mac's never done it for me, and I'm a huge PSU fan. He's a nice guy to have in your lineup but never a centerpiece. Obviously we've been a little spoiled ;-) Cox just sets the standard...
mlbruem 141 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 HMMMM - DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THAT IDEA - pretty sure most would have thought 1 in a million was probable.

He could wrestle hwt, but he'd be undersized. He looks small next to Marsden.
silver-medal 670 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 I think Cox is the front runner to win at 197. He has game in all positions including top. And he has always plenty of mental toughness. The only thing working against him is the depth of the weight. He'll get tested....but so will everyone else.

If you look at that picture Green has much wider shoulders than Cox....crazy. The 165, 174, 184, 197 are all about the same height.
