Alwayswrestling 227 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Well the ref looked like he was in position so hard to argue to much about it.
Cooch1 147 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) right shoulder wasn't touching at all, 1 " to 2 " gap on the slo-mo click stop. 0:56 on the replay shows it. Edited January 17, 2015 by Cooch1
HokieHWT 593 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 At :56-:58 you can see he is not pinned, yet the ref slapped the mat then as he was coming around. Dark singlets lead to bad calls in my opinion, shadows can play tricks on the eyes.
Cooch1 147 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 agree, should have stuck his hand in there and it would of been much clearer. Flashlight!
rstrong 75 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Pretty sure Perry thinks it was a bad call. Looked like he and Brands were going to go fisticuffs at the end of the match.

HokieHWT 593 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Looks stuck to me No part of the 2nd scapula was touching. You can see it protrude and it's still off the mat.
Cooch1 147 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 He definitely looks stuck on the first view which is what some are only seeing, but you have to catch the replay showing it from the other side at about :56.

Flying-Tiger 617 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Does it really matter, Meyer was still going to win and so was Iowa. Quite frankly, Brunson got what he deserved, did absolutely nothing in the last minute.
headshuck 2,626 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Does it really matter, Meyer was still going to win and so was Iowa. Quite frankly, Brunson got what he deserved, did absolutely nothing in the last minute. He might have been confused about the score when he thought he scored another TD 30 seconds prior to that? I'm surprised they didn't review the call to give Brunson a chance to regroup for the final minute.
OtisCampbell 94 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) Trying to find the link but there was an article that had a quote to the effect of Perry saying "When I looked over he was pinned. It was a pin." Edited January 17, 2015 by OtisCampbell

LoStNuMbEr 320 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Didn't look like a fall to me at all once you watch the replay with the appropriate camera angle. Also I'm a little confused; I didn't watch the match, the scoreboard says 5-3 Brunson on the broadcast, but someone here was saying that Meyer was winning the match. Can I get some clarification? Serial_Thriller 77 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Brunson was ahead 5-3 at the time of pinfall.
rossel3 77 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 No part of the 2nd scapula was touching. You can see it protrude and it's still off the mat. Maybe he has real long scapulae. That was Metcalf's disadvantage when he got pinned by Caldwell. 2 GranbyTroll and HokieHWT reacted to this

skikayaker 93 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 A. No Pinfall 2. Very poor public display of emotions between Perry & Brands. Worse imo than the NW Minnesota match between NW head coach and Eggum. It's a college wrestling match fellas. Take it out back if you hate each other, but not on the floor.
