Medved International

Recommended Posts

Below is the link that shows the preliminary plans, but I have not been able to find anything confirming who actually went.  I'm sure there were changes from the original list.

Also looking to know if there will be reliable streaming (I know that is an oxymoron in the wrestling landscape) available for this event.

Time Zones are tough on this one 1AM-6AM ET (prelims); 10AM - 12:30 (medal matches) on Friday.  57, 65, 74, 97.  On Satuday it is 1AN - 6AM and 7:30AM - 11AM for the other 4 weights.

If Oliver and Burroughs are both competing and we believe we will have reliable streaming, I will take off Friday and pull an all nighter watching the streams.

Hoping USA Wrestling gets some info out soon.

If he switched to Dogu (end of March) or Kolov (mid April), then I don't see this as a big deal.  But if he wrestles in neither, I defnitely see it as indicative of something bigger.  Lack of desire?  Can't make the weight?  Mindset shifting to UFC (or coaching)?  But something is definitely up if the #2 guy at this weight is healthy and does not wrestle in a single tourney overseas during the winter season -- especially a guy who had exepecations/hype built around him for so long.

The best p4p guy up a weight when Burroughs is not even a big 74k guy. A lot of muscle yes but Burroughs has a small frame. This would end in a quick tech. Russian blogs have live matches going 5-0 in favor of Sadulaev over Gadisov and splits matches with Gatsalov. Burroughs would get absolutely horsed here guys.
