B1G 174 semis the most brutal in history?

Recommended Posts

Don't be surprised if 184 starts to go this route

2 more years of Pfarr, Brooks, Abounader, Dudley, Robertson, Reyes, McCutch

All of them look like career 184 types. Scoring will probably go down

Just having Brooks and McCutcheon in there will almost guarantee 184 doesn't end up being 174 all over again. And if it does, at least Gabe Dean is around for two more years to offset some of it.

I though Evans looked a bit like Ali floating like a butterfly but with "no sting".   How he got out of the 1st period without getting called for stalling is the mystery of the day!  Admit it....he wanted no part of Brown......AGAIN.

Matt Brown's ride...

I know, i know, sour grapes from Evans # 1 fan . Whatever. All action in the third was generated by the bottom man and there was one stalling call.

And i admit Evans didn't do anything from his feet.

Evans didn't take one decent shot against Brown. He deserved to lose. And Iowa fans have no reason to gripe about anyone's ride after all the ankle grabbing they have done lately.

At least last year's NCAA semis & final had a few takedowns.  Evans scored a TD against Perry.  Howe scored 2 against Storley.  And Perry had a TD in the finals.

Last year's Big Ten semi matches each had 1 takedown.  Finals had 3.

That was a wild west shootout compared to today.

Prediction for tomorrow:  A lot of hard stares with almost no shooting.

174 is more than just a bathroom break. You can stand in line for an overpriced hot dog and drink, read the brackets in the hallway, use the restroom at a leisurely pace, come back to your seat and maybe first OT will be just starting.

Pfarr, Brooks, Abounader, and Dudley all generate a ton of action.  I doubt any of those guys have had a match all year where a takedown wasn't scored by someone
