GoNotQuietly 1,168 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 I said he should have taken top because I think that was his best opportunity to win the match, not necessarily by hurting his cousin, but by cancelling out riding time and getting a turn. He got the leg in easily and even before the injury time it looked to me like he might end up with a couple back-points out of the situation. He would still have the option to cut and go for the takedown at any time.
AKHUNTER 316 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 I find it interesting that our coaching philosophies are completely 180 degrees. I never let them choose unless I feel they can, which is rare. In the stress of a match it is tough enough as it is to focus on your opponent and the logistics of the battle let alone have the where with all to make a tough choice like that. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, just find it interesting. LN....... yep interesting My philosophy was always "wrestle like the score is 0-0". Go compete HARD..... everything else will take care of itself.
