SetonHallPirate 988 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 RPI is a part of it. You can find the criteria I, and the gang of six, use here: http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/DIWREPRECHAMPMANV2.pdf 1 hammerlockthree reacted to this
lu_alum 920 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) SHP... are these listed in your projected order of selection? i.e., are you suggesting that Kindig is the last one in at 149 (after taking two defaults at 0:01)? lu_alum 920 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 that was my thinking. didn't the "schlatter rule" suggest that the wrestler has to at least make an attempt to compete in the conference tourney? I'm guessing that is why H. Stieber took the mat against Beitz in the B1G QF.
SetonHallPirate 988 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Wasn't so much that, but that weight happens to be especially deep in terms of who needed an at-large bid. Compare that to, say, 141, where Dean Heil has as many wins against the automatic-qualifying tournament field as Britt Malinsky, who would probably be pinned in one second by nearly everybody attending the Championships if he could only get out of that sweatsuit and into a singlet. 1 Billyhoyle reacted to this
hammerlockthree 2,582 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) It's why Kindig did. Stieber went out there to beat beitz and get his team a co-title. (at LU Alum) Edited March 10, 2015 by hammerlockthree
Show_Me 336 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 SHP - Will the 3rd set of Coaches Rankings and RPI be made available to he public PRIOR to the release of brackets ?
SetonHallPirate 988 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Show_Me, I don't think they'll ever be made public...just my guess.
KTG119 820 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 after a slightly off kilter ACC performance, these projections would help Va Tech a lot. The guys listed above can score some points at NCAAs
Guest Kingsland Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Staudenmayer tore his pcl in his EIWA quarterfinal and is done for the season. Harner didn't compete at EIWAs so he's out too.
midcals 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Silver of Stanford at 125 already qualified as he took 2nd.
Gambatte 49 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 .... Harner didn't compete at EIWAs so he's out too. In a post tournament interview coach Ayers indicated that he expected Harner to get an at-large bid. Harner medical forfeited two matches but maybe did not step on the mat for either one. Was that a tactical error? I hope he can compete; he deserves it. JasonBryant 2,066 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Silver of Stanford at 125 already qualified as he took 2nd. He took 2nd in the bracket, but lost the "true 2nd" match to Carpio from Arizona State. So he's in the at-large pool, Carpio won the 2nd bid at the weight.
gimpeltf 2,045 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 In a post tournament interview coach Ayers indicated that he expected Harner to get an at-large bid. Harner medical forfeited two matches but maybe did not step on the mat for either one. Was that a tactical error? I hope he can compete; he deserves it. Apparently the scorer at matside used the med forfeit when the score was returned but I do see evidence that they started and stopped the clock from the computer record. Therefore it should have been termed a default. This applies only to the first bout.
Guest Kingsland Report post Posted March 10, 2015 I hope so too, he's has a good season and beat a tough Lorenzo Thomas rather recently. In a post tournament interview coach Ayers indicated that he expected Harner to get an at-large bid. Harner medical forfeited two matches but maybe did not step on the mat for either one. Was that a tactical error? I hope he can compete; he deserves it.

SetonHallPirate 988 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Carp, I can see the logic with Hammond over Wanzek, but I'm guessing what the committee WILL do, not what you think they should. As for McCall and Tavanello, I have to think that's your anti-Big Ten alter-ego posting, not you personally. You're usually much smarter than that. Idaho 1,324 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) 141 - Is Preston done for the season? I assume he is based on his twitter. Also, Brown MD has to be considered here. 149- Rodgriguez Oregon State has a head to head over Mastriani and was ahead of him in the last RPI. Is there going to be one more RPI before tomorrow - or will selections be based on the last RPI from the end of Feb?
